Funsense Dictionary

Below are Funsense definitions of different words relating to our work:

Accessible:
Environments and experiences that:
  •  accommodate a person's mobility requirements
  •  accommodate a person's sensory and cognitive needs
 
Disabled people:
People who find it difficult to access the world.
 
 
Enabled people:
People faced with choice and opportunities.
 
 
Inclusion:
When people are welcomed and feel they are welcomed.
 
 
Integration
When a group of people are brought into the same proximity as each other.
 
 
Multisensory:
An array of sensory input from sound, vibration, light, imagery, touch and taste: eg: multisensory room, multisensory experience, multisensory toy.
 
 
Participant:
Anyone taking part in an experience.
 
 
Supporter:
Someone who is supporting someone else to access something.
