Funsense Theatre

Multisensory theatre for everybody

Funsense & People with Disabilities

Funsense Theatre is dedicated to providing more accessible theatre for disabled people.

We consider the needs of disabled people from the beginning of the performance making process. We create the opportunity for young people of mixed abilities and their families to experience the arts together, breaking down social barriers surrounding disability.

We provide fun and engaging experiences at an affordable price, as we believe disabled people shouldn’t have to pay more than others to access the arts.

Funsense uses the term ‘disabled young people’ to include young people with physical, visual or hearing impairments, those with learning difficulties, and those who for whatever reason are unable to easily access the world around them.

We have based our approach on our own experiences and information provided by disabled young people and their families. Find out more about our approach in the Funsense Information Pack (download below), which includes information on the different models of disability and some helpful advice on creating inclusive projects for young people.
